Sun Care Training Newsletter No. 27

On Thursday, November 22, 2018, a guest instructor from Tokyo Rehabilitation Home-Visit Care Station led a session on "Caregiving Without Injuring Your Body." Seventeen home helpers participated and learned about the human musculoskeletal system, postures that can easily strain the lower back, and ways to provide care with less physical burden. They also performed lower-back and back stretches while seated in chairs, checking their flexibility.

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, Mr. Kakemoto from the Kitasuna East Longevity Support Center served as the instructor for a session on "Preventing Elder Abuse." Using case studies, he discussed psychological abuse, neglect and abandonment of care, financial abuse, self-neglect, and physical abuse. Through our work, we are in a position to identify the early signs of elder abuse as quickly as possible. It is important to document incidents clearly and report them.

On Saturday, April 13, 2019, we held a cherry-blossom viewing gathering at サン介護センター. Although the cherry blossoms had already finished blooming, the delicious food and everyone's smiles made it feel as though the flowers were in full bloom.
As a way of expressing our appreciation for your hard work each day, we began holding social gatherings in spring and autumn. We enjoyed a wonderful time together. Thank you very much.
